How are broadcast floors created?
These floors are crafted by applying a solid-color, high-performance coating such as Epoxy, Urethane, or Polyaspartic. While the coating remains wet, flakes and/or quartz are broadcasted into the mixture, allowing them to float on the surface. Once the coating has dried, it is sealed with a clear topcoat, resulting in a seamless and waterproof floor.
Which floor is best flake or quartz?
Both flooring options are excellent selections, offering a sturdy surface with outstanding wear and scratch resistance. Flake floors are crafted using vinyl color chips, while quartz floors utilize colored aggregates that are exceptionally strong and feature a sand-like finish, enhancing slip resistance. This makes quartz floors particularly well-suited for wet environments such as locker rooms, bathrooms, commercial kitchens and garages.
What are the color options for these floors?
Broadcast floors like flake and quartz are offered in a variety of solid colors and pre-mixed color blends. Depending on the vendor, you can choose from over 40 solid color options. The pre-mixed color blends typically feature 3 to 4 colors with different dispersion patterns. Consult with your Advanced Surface Solution technician to explore the available choices
Do Flake floors come in different flake sizes?
Flake broadcast floor color chips are available in a ¼” size, along with additional options such as 1/16”, 1/8”, 3/8”, and 5/8”. The selection of chip size can significantly affect installation costs; for instance, both 1/8” and 1/16” sizes necessitate a greater amount of broadcast material to achieve complete floor coverage compared to the conventional ¼” size.
